Assignments for 10.09.2021

Ex.1

a)I didn’t know who were Amishes, but after reading the text I figured out. Amishes are fascinating community who live in isolation, who work together to grow their own food, make their own clothes and build their own communities. They reject conveniences like electricity, telephones, cars and focus on hard work, Christian worship, and family.

b)1.The Rumspringa is when Amish people reach their late teens, they are allowed to explore modern society and are given the chance to experience the outside world for the first time. I think it is very dangerous but at the same time very interesting, and helpful thing. It is dangerous because they are still teens and they can’t live their own life all alone in completely new world, where there is everything that they have never seen before. But also it is very good, because they get to see all the new thing they have never seen, they will have something to compare to their old life, and they will get a good education, they can go to college, I mean it is a great opportunity.

2. I think the biggest culture shock for Amish people will be night clubs, people’s attitude to each other, technology, cars, the noisy and the big city.

3. I can’t say what the majority of the five young Amish will do, because everyone will chose what to do, some of they maybe will go back to their old life, to their families. Some of them maybe will like to stay in the city and get education, go to collage and work.
